We are excited to announce that the first two videos in our series, Teaching ESL to Adults: Classroom Approaches in Action, are ready to view online! Take a look and please give us your reactions by adding a comment to this blog entry.
Within a couple of weeks, we’ll have a DVD available for purchase. We are also working on providing an option to download the videos to your computer so that you can view them at full screen on your computer or burn your own DVD (provided you have DVD-burning software). We’ll let you know when both of these ways to obtain the videos are ready.

It’s wonderful! The teacher shares with her experience and it’s so helpful for every ESL Instructor. Anybody can find something new to use for his or her practice. Thanks a lot.
Great videos! I look forward to more. This is the opportunity instructors don’t often have: to observe other excellent teachers in action with actual student participation. The voice-overs are valuable because they explain what is observed and name specific practices and techniques. New teachers would benefit greatly from these demonstrations and experienced teachers can always use new ideas and opportunities to reflect on current practices. Viewing teaching from this perspective is very helpful.
Thanks for the positive comments about our first two videos. We’re quite excited about them, and eager to work on the next ones!
We expect to be able to ship the DVD of these first two to those who order it about March 11. At this point the videos can be viewed online; some people will be able to see them at full screen with no loss of quality. Others, because of their internet connection speed or other factors specific to their computers, will need to view them in the smaller screen online. Once we make the download option available, everyone can view them full screen, and of course, the DVD will be viewed at full screen.
These videos are so helpful! I’ve been teaching ESL for three years, so it’s wonderful at this point to learn new strategies that I haven’t tried yet. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for these extremely helpful videos! As a relatively new (3 years) and untrained volunteer teacher (learning on the job!), I’m finding that the most useful thing I can do is seek out experienced teachers and watch how they teach! I teach low beginners and haven’t found many examples online or in person of how best to do that. These videos have been so helpful to me. I love seeing the style and manner of the teachers, the teaching techniques and strategies, the reactions of the students, and the progression of the lessons. I look forward to seeing the rest in the series. Thank you!
Are any of your videos specifically for Citizenship Preparation. We have had a very successful program here at the Bakersfield Adult School for 15 years and are always looking for quality materials. Thanks.
These are great! Can you tell me where I can find ESL adults with learning disabilities information?
